General Characteristics of Bipolar Cables
The basic thread of wire ropes is made of electrolytic copper high conductivity and are structured and positioned to increase flexibility and reduce abrasion.
The chordae are pressed and welded to the terminals ensuring better electrical contact without super Heat the copper.
Different types of terminals are available and new models can be developed according to customer’s request.
The natural rubber hoses are fixed to the terminals with steel clamps and ensure the tightness of the cables.
Bipolar cables have a core cast in natural rubber which allows greater water flow and consequently better cooling of the chordae.

This core profile with star acts as an internal separator and prevents friction of the ropes together allowing better cooling with a lower voltage drop.

The structure also minimizes the generation of wire fragments that could cause restrictions in cooling.

The alternating poles in the bipolar cables provide a lower power factor results in lower losses and hence better throughput obtaining:

– Lower power consumption;
– Lower voltage drop;
– Lower stride.

Technical feature

The bipolar cable manufactured by W. Rady is manufactured with 6 chordae in oxygen-free electrolytic copper with bare or tinned wires with each chordal each pole respectively, are positioned alternately around the cable until the respective terminals, causing it to get the lower reactance.

a) Advantage of forged or rolled and machined terminals (not cast):
The conductivity in cables with forged terminals is high, and also excel in mechanical properties to the fused terminal.
They have no internal defects, compared to molten materials such as pores, micro-cracks and inclusions.

b) Core Star:
This internal seprador natural rubber or silicone, prevents friction of the ropes together, permetindo better cooling and lower voltage drop. The hollow core allows greater water flow, improving cooling of the chordae. So we have:

-Increased Electrical efficiency;
Better heat exchange;
-menor voltage drop;
